LOOK Animation creates 2D cartoon animation and 3D productions for entertainment, promotional content and live experiences.

Since 2017, we’ve also operated Digital Puppets, LOOK’s specialist motion capture department. Combining 2D and 3D digital puppetry with efficient production workflows, we help studios and larger productions create character animation while keeping turnaround times and budgets manageable.

We also build custom VTuber avatars for Twitch streamers, gamers and content creators who want a distinctive, memorable character. Our digital puppets are designed to be straightforward to operate and can be used for recorded animation, live streaming and interactive performances.

From a character welcoming visitors to a theme park or museum to a digital performer promoting a film, we develop animated characters around your audience, setting and production needs.

Mick the Tick: Bringing a Children's Story to Life

From children's book to internationally recognised animated film!

We are delighted to have been involved in the creation of Mick the Tick, an animated children's film based on the original story and characters created by author Kara Perrin.

Working closely with Kara, our role was to help bring her illustrated characters to life through animation. We created and rigged digital puppets of the story's principal characters, including Mick the Tick, Kara the Koala and Crow, transforming the original illustrations into expressive animated performers.

Using our specialist Digital Puppets technology, we were able to give the characters personality, movement and expression while remaining faithful to the charm and appearance of the original artwork.

The project combined character animation, storytelling and the original illustrations to help transform the children's book into an entertaining animated experience.

International Film Festival Recognition

We're especially pleased that Mick the Tick has gone on to receive recognition at international children's film festivals in 2026, including:

- San Diego International Kids' Film Festival – Official Selection - Children's International Film Festival of Wales – Official Selection - Awareness Film Festival – Honourable Mention - California International Children's Film Festival – Honourable Mention

It's wonderful to see a project we've helped bring to life receiving recognition internationally, and we're delighted for Kara and everyone involved in the production.

Bringing Illustrated Characters to Life

Mick the Tick is a great example of how we combine traditional creative expertise with modern animation technology to bring illustrated characters and stories to life.

This was a hybrid production, combining our specialist Digital Puppets technology with AI assisted animation. By carefully blending these techniques, we were able to achieve the creative scope and visual ambition envisioned by the original creator, while keeping the production within the available budget.

Whether it's a children's book, an educational project, a television concept or a brand mascot, we specialise in helping creators take their characters beyond the printed page and bring them to life through animation.

About Us

LOOK Creative is run by brothers Scott and Antony, known as Ant. Their creative partnership began at home, competing to see who could draw the best pictures. As they grew up, the rivalry became collaboration, with shared dreams of making their own comics and animations.

Scott specialises in 2D design, cartoon animation, video production and script production. He began in illustration, creating distinctive cartoon branding and marketing for businesses around the world before moving into animation. His focus is on memorable designs, adverts and content that catch the eye in a crowded marketplace. Today, Scott combines his creative skills with the latest technologies to bring his customers’ ideas to life.

A side creative project of Scotts is his scifi, comedy novel 'The Time Diary'. A humourous adventure for fans of Pratchett and Douglas Adam readers.

Ant began with 3D character creation and architectural design before specialising in 3D motion capture. He develops expressive 3D avatars in platforms such as Unreal Engine, continually researching, testing and refining new techniques to explore what these technologies can do.

Together, the brothers combine different specialities with a shared imagination, turning original ideas into creative work that helps their customers stand out.
